These are artifacts of a learning sequence I planned within a unit of study of electricity. My primary goal was to make the study of electricity relevant to students' lives by making connections to home, arithmetic and writing skills. It was a multi-faceted and well-organized learning sequence that I enjoyed facilitating.
This is a student-guided debate about renewable and non-renewable energies that portrays evidence of authentic use of academic language in Spanish as a second or first language. Language use was scaffolded and it helped students support their claims. I am thrilled with their engagement and advocacy!

Here is a literacy-rich interactive activity that I designed to help students interpret weather maps and make predictions. It helped students visualize their own predictions and made learning so much more memorable.
