I cannot think of a better word that describes how academic research has impacted my life. First, it made me overcome my own prejudices about language use and variations. Second, it showed me the value of informing my own professional practice with research, both past and current. And most importantly, I gained new lenses to approach the wonders of the world by using the scientific process.
